In 2006 the efforts of our volunteer attorneys along with the Dakota County Bar Association, Dakota County Law Library, and Dakota County District Court, were recognized by the Commissioners of Dakota County and PS&R Division of Dakota County. Collaborators received the 2006 HEROES Award and 2006 Spreading the Cheer Award, recognizing the dedication and support that makes the Dakota County Family Court Self Help Center not only possible, but also a collaborative success. As featured in Bar Buzz, volunteer attorneys were recognized at a reception in their honor on May 17, 2007, at the Burns Law Office, whose principle attorney, John Burns, and his associates, are dedicated self-help volunteers. The Honorable Edward Lynch was on hand to present an award to all those that volunteered at the center in 2006.
Volunteer extraordinaire Lew Linde received the 2006 First Judicial District Pro Bono Award at a reception in his honor on August 16, 2006, at the law offices of Jagow, Meinerts, Grove & Valentine,who are also dedicated attorneys with our Volunteer Attorney Program. The Honorable Paul Anderson and the Honorable Richard G. Spicer were on hand to present the award, along with the Honorable Joseph T. Carter and the Honorable Michael R. Savre. Thanks to all who joined us in recognizing Lew’s service!
